Many visitors' experiences in in Amsterdam are limited to a street view of the city due to limited rooftop space to the city's restrictions on high rise buildings. So to get a view like this is a special treat and I'm going to let you in on how to do it.
The Sky Lounge is definitely a personal go-to for when friends and family are visiting the city and I'm playing tour guide, or just for when I'm feeling like a special treat.
Chill in Comfort
It's free entry which is a bonus, but expect to pay a premium if you'd like to wine and dine here. A coffee will set you back about seven euros, although mind you this includes a refill, chocolates, popcorn and a spectacular view. The filter coffee is pretty good.
Really cool place to have a drink and enjoy the Amsterdam skyline - Romy
If you're fortunate enough to be up her on a clear day/night you can step outside to the city's highest rooftop terrace. Gaze over the hustle and bustle of the city and its busy waterways bustling with activity.
The atmosphere was lovely. The terrace is great. There was an amazing live band playing inside - Lama
Bar & Restaurant
Expect great service and a well equipped bar and restaurant that caters to a wide variety of tastes and requirements. I shared the nachos which came out piping hot in a massive tray which was enough to feed two. This was at a reasonable eight euros.
Situation just a hop, skip and a jump away from Centraal Station, the Skylounge is located conveniently for the weary travellor, for that hot tinder date or that client you're trying to impress. Enter through the revolving doors of the Hilton and take the elevator to level 11.
So you want to catch a special perspective of Amsterdam that not many people get the chance to see? Head up to the Sky Lounge and kick back.
